“From Hoover Dam, keep going south. Pass Keepers of the Wild animal park, Rosie’s Den, Pierce Ferry Road, Big Wash Road, then turn left at Grasshopper Junction.”

We did that and here we are: Chloride, an old mining community dating back to the 1860’s and today a ghost town that, with about 250 characters living there, never died completely…

Leaving Las Vegas westwards we soon arrived at Lake Mead. Formed by the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead is the largest reservoir of the United States with nearly 900 km of shoreline and only 40 km off from Las Vegas.
However, due to long term contracts with NV Energy, Vegas does not get any clean electricity from the Hoover Dam watercraft. Happy polluting!
